Inspiration

Patchwork is a site motivated to add democracy with social text. We need more democracy in our technology.

Patchwork is a site inspired by Wikipedia - an openness to information and striving to be a platform that is precise and accurate.

Taking in lessons from many platforms, technologies, discourse, and history, Patchwork attempts different ways of information presentation; For understanding, applying, and sharing.

The functionality of Patchwork is to provide avenues of finding the right information and potential community discussion around it. Searching and sharing are such powerful tools.

Zeitgeist

All the text - books, guides, information, surveys. A Zeitgeist text is processed as a markdown file including all the typical bells and whistles of the format. Headers translate to a Table of Contents to assist with traversing text.

Patches

Change and/or update a Zeitgeist, then submit for review and possible acceptance to become the main version.

Hives

Communities for topics, fandoms, and whatever else. Queens are the moderators and adjudicators of their Hive.

Search

Finding the correct information can be hard and Patchwork strives to make it easier.
